Prague has always been one of my absolute favourite cities in Europe. It’s a place where mystery, history, and magic come alive on every corner. I’ve visited twice, and I still can’t get enough of its charming architecture, romantic vibe, and the endless list of fun things to do in Prague.

Another reason I love this city (especially for my fellow frugal travelers) is how easy and affordable it is to explore. Prague is a walkable city, and if you prefer public transport, you can grab a 24-, 48-, or 72-hour tram and metro pass to hop around the top attractions with ease.

1. Channel your inner Disney Prince/Princess at the Iconic Prague Castle

No trip to Prague is complete without visiting Prague Castle. It is the city’s most iconic landmark and the largest ancient castle complex in the world. You can wander through its courtyards and gardens for free and you can catch the Changing of the Guard ceremony that takes place every hour.

2. Step Inside the Magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral

St. Vitus Cathedral is located inside the Prague Castle complex and it’ a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Whether you’re religious or not, you can admire the stained-glass windows and intricate stone carvings and you can also climb the 287 steps up the Great South Tower if you want a view of the city skyline.

3. Unfold the mystery at the Historic Strahov Library

Strahov Library is one of the oldest and most beautiful libraries in the world. Housed within the Strahov Monastery and it’s also one of Prague’s intriguing landmarks. According to legend, this library holds the secrets of the universe and only someone “pure of heart and truly devoted to seeking knowledge for the betterment of humanity” can read the book. 4. Walk Across the Charles Bridge runway

Connecting the Old Town and Lesser Town, the Charles Bridge is one of Prague’s most famous landmarks. It’s a lively walkway filled with street artists, musicians, and local vendors. A perfect spot to catwalk while soaking up in Prague’s charm.

5. Experience the Magic of Old Town Square

At the heart of Prague lies Old Town Square where you can see the Astronomical Clock which is not just a masterpiece of engineering but also has an interesting myth. Legends say that Prague’s Astronomical Clock is cursed. After Master Hanuš, the clockmaker, was blinded to prevent him from copying his creation, he supposedly placed a curse on the clock: anyone who tried to tamper with it would bring misfortune to the city.

6. Try Trdelník, Prague’s Sweet Treat

To my fellow foodies with a sweet tooth, indulge in a Trdelník, Prague’s most famous pastry. It’s a rolled dough, coated in sugar and cinnamon, is often filled with Nutella and ice cream with also different variations. This can’t be missed as you’ll find Trdelník all around old town.

7. Dine with a View at Terasa U Prince

Terasa U Prince has one of the views in Prague. It is located just above the Hotel U Prince in Old Town Square which offers panoramic views of the Astronomical Clock and the city’s Gothic spires. A perfect spot to enjoy a meal or a glass of local wine as the sun sets over the rooftop.

8. Express Yourself at The Lennon Wall

The colourful Lennon Wall is an ever-changing canvas of peace, love, and freedom. It is covered in Beatles-inspired graffiti and street art, and the wall has been a symbol of hope and expression since the 1980s. Bring a marker and leave your own message of peace or dream for the world.
